Two Mediterranean Jewels: Sardinia & Corsica
There are few places in Europe that capture the imagination quite like the islands of Sardinia and Corsica. Surrounded by turquoise waters, blessed with golden sunshine and rich in history, these neighbouring Mediterranean gems provide the perfect setting for an escorted holiday that combines discovery with complete relaxation. Over seven unforgettable nights, you can slow the pace, embrace island life and uncover the beauty, culture and coastline of two truly enchanting destinations.
Our journey began as we flew into Olbia, where we were warmly welcomed by our Dedicated Tour Manager. From here, we transferred by coach to the charming resort town of Cannigione, our home for the week.
One of our first highlights was a stunning excursion through the Maddalena Archipelago. After breakfast, we boarded a ferry from Palau and cruised across crystal-clear waters to La Maddalena, the gateway to this protected marine paradise. We spent time exploring the colourful harbour, browsing charming streets and enjoying lunch at our leisure before heading back to Cannigione for a relaxed evening.
Another unforgettable experience awaited us as we crossed the straits to Corsica. Setting off early, we travelled to Santa Teresa di Gallura and boarded the ferry to Bonifacio. The scenic crossing offered wonderful sea views before we arrived beneath Corsica’s dramatic limestone cliffs. We explored the historic upper town aboard the delightful Petit Train, discovering ancient fortifications, churches and cobbled streets perched high above the sea. With free time to wander and enjoy lunch, we fully soaked up Bonifacio’s unique atmosphere before returning to Sardinia in the evening.

The pace then slowed, allowing us time simply to relax and enjoy our surroundings. Over two leisurely days, we explored at our own rhythm – visiting the local market, strolling along the harbour, relaxing by the pool or enjoying an aperitivo as the sun set over the sea. These unhurried moments gave us the chance to truly appreciate the laid-back charm of Sardinian life.
We then delved deeper into the island’s history with a full-day excursion to Castelsardo and Aggius. Our day began in Castelsardo, a beautifully preserved medieval village dramatically set on volcanic rock. A guided walk through the old town revealed narrow alleyways, sweeping sea views and centuries of history.
Our Sardinian adventure concluded with a journey through ancient and glamorous contrasts. In Arzachena, we explored remarkable Nuragic sites, including the Tombs of the Giants and the ancient village of La Prisgiona, offering fascinating insight into Sardinia’s prehistoric past. We then travelled along the world-famous Costa Smeralda, visiting elegant resorts such as Porto Cervo and Baja Sardinia, where pristine beaches and sparkling seas provided a fitting finale to our journey.
As we returned home from Olbia, we took with us lasting memories of sunlit harbours, dramatic coastlines and timeless villages – a perfectly balanced escape that allowed us to experience two Mediterranean islands at their most beautiful, relaxed and inspiring.
