Budapest at Christmas
Budapest, one of the top city break destinations for Irish holiday-makers, is the capital of Hungary. The River Danube bisects this historical city, which has a humid subtropical climate with relatively cold winters and warm summers.
Budapest has architecturally noteworthy buildings in a wide range of styles from the ancient times as Roman City of Aquincum in Óbuda which dates to around 89 AD, to the most modern Palace of Arts - a contemporary arts museum and concert hall.
The city also plays host to some of Europe's most popular Christmas Markets.
